My Birthday Countdown

Your privacy

Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the website handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have when using My Birthday Countdown.

Last updated: August 10, 2026

Information you choose to enter

You may enter a name, date of birth, birthday message, and optional images to create a countdown. The countdown is generated in your browser. We do not require an account, email address, or payment information to use the tool.

Browser storage

If you save a birthday, your browser stores the saved countdown details using local storage on that device. Your selected light or dark color mode is stored in the same way. This information is not automatically sent to us.

You can remove saved birthdays with the controls on the homepage. You can also clear the website’s stored data through your browser settings.

Photos and backgrounds

Images you select are read locally by your browser to personalize the current countdown. They are not uploaded to our server by the countdown tool. Avoid selecting an image if you do not have permission to use it.

Shared links

When you use the sharing feature, countdown details may be placed in the page URL so another device can recreate the countdown. Anyone who receives or can access that URL may be able to read the information included in it. Do not put sensitive personal information in a countdown you plan to share publicly.

Calendar and device sharing services

If you choose “Google Calendar,” your browser opens Google Calendar with event details in the URL. Google then processes that information under its own privacy terms. If you use your device’s native sharing feature, the selected app or operating-system service handles the shared information under its own terms. Downloading an ICS calendar file creates the file on your device.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process basic request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and security logs to deliver and protect the website. Retention and handling of infrastructure logs may depend on the hosting provider we use.

Cookies and advertising

The countdown itself does not require an advertising cookie or account cookie. If analytics, advertising, or other optional services are introduced later, this policy will be updated to describe them and any choices available to you.

Children’s privacy

The website is a general-audience utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use of sharing features and avoid publishing a child’s full name, birth date, or photograph without appropriate consent.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when the website or its services change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version.
